Wavec GmbH does functional hard chrome plating of rolls for the steel industry — a process where a line stoppage costs real money. A subsidiary of Nord Chrome, part of the ArcelorMittal group. The plant sits in Eisenhüttenstadt, some 30 km from our base.
A manufacturing plant asks different things of IT than an office: dust, humidity and interference in the hall, and a network outage stops production, not just email. You design the network for the conditions, not for the photographs. The client sits on the German side of the border and we look after it from the Polish side — that is our everyday reality in the border region.
